Conceived as an institution with one of the most advanced & cutting edge educational methodologies and programs, as the “Eduvation Network” headquarters, and as a community center housing spaces dedicated to congregation, conferences, arts & culture and sports, this complex project’s architecture had to stand out as a landmark.
The 65,000 m2 built-up area of the Beirut Annunciation Orthodox College new campus is centered on its 1,800-strong student body, on the faculty & educators, and the building’s orientation, heights, and volumes take into account its users needs and the neighborhood’s densities.
The building progressively steps up with slabs of varying orientations, giving the project a dynamic look, all the while projecting strength and stability, with the Eduvation Network central administration offices housed at the volume’s fulcrum and apex, overlooking the entirety of the project.
The use of the red bricks and silver-grey aluminum composite panels with the play of the different fenestration gives the project an aura of contemporaneity, and contributes to its benchmark status.
