The design of this mosque was inspired by verses of the Holy Koran and the basic architectural forms of Islamic Architecture.
The edifice, a pure combination of squares and the Sahn – a pure octagon – float over a wading pool. The dome of the mosque is the largest freestanding glass dome in the world, spanning a diameter of 76m. The structure of its double skin is designed to give full protection from the excessive heat and solar rays.
