On the hill overlooking the Beirut Central District, this intimate church, in the heart of history was devastated by the civil war.
Only the external walls and the bell tower were spared.
Our approach for its reconstruction was to dismantle the remaining walls stone by stone, reinforce the bell tower, build four floors of parking space, then reconstruct the church using the original stones, in its original shape giving it back its original soul, as if war never was.
Only a stigmata was left on the bell tower to remind us of that sad parentheses of history.
